Good Food at Harrogate

THE BBC Good Food Show Spring (April 10 to 12) sponsored by Lexus is returning to the HIC in Harrogate with a new and improved layout.

This year the show is expanding, filling four halls with thousands of foodie products including state of the art gadgets and dedicated producer areas. A brand new area to this year’s show is the Great Taste Market featuring award-winning companies giving visitors a chance to taste and buy from these artisan producers. Other highlights of the show include the Deliciouslyorkshire area and Good Food Champions, plus four hand-picked winners of the Producers’ Bursary Awards Scheme.

The line-up includes some BBC Good Food Show favourites including Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood, the Hairy Bikers and James Martin as well as some new faces.

Nancy Birtwhistle is last year's winner of The Great British Bake Off and, growing up in Hull, she taught herself to bake, but only took it up seriously when she retired from her full-time job as a practice manager for a GP’s surgery seven years ago. Nancy will be cooking in the Supertheatre on Friday April 10 with local favourite Brian Turner.

Peter Sidwell is another new face to the shows. Having graduated from Beverley College in Yorkshire, he worked in several of the very best hotels in York to learn his trade. He has released two cook books and is best known as one of the judges on Britain’s Best Bakery alongside Mich Turner. Peter will be at the show on Saturday, April 11 doing live Q&As on the Interview Stage.
