Dolly Parton has been a global superstar for five decades but her career has reached a new high this year with her highest charted UK album 'Blue Smoke- The Best Of' and an incredible performance at the Glastonbury Festival which was seen by millions on TV.

Her new release simply entitled 'Dolly' is once again another outstanding offering in the shape of a four CD booklet style release.

Country fans around the world found it incredible to believe that it was not until 1999 that she was inducted into the hallowed Country Music Hall Of Fame, however it seems that since then she has shared much more worldly success than ever before.

I was taken by the fore word of the booklet written by Laura Cantrell in which she writes,"A friend recently asked me to suggest some Dolly Parton albums to purchase. I answered "Which Dolly do you want?"

This release takes in 'all the Dolly's', as it is an overall mix of her career to date from the early days of 'demo's', songs with the 'Merry Melody Singers', through to her association with Porter Wagoner, TVshow specials, pop songs, crossover songs, bluegrass offerings and more.

In total the listener is invited into the musical world of one of country's greatest singer/songwriter entertainers in a total of ninety nine tracks.

The booklet within the binding is written by Holly George Warren and gives a complete look into a lifestyle that many would fear about a lady who has learned her craft apart from writing more than 3,00 songs and producing seventy five albums, let alone starring in movies.

The photographs that accompany naturally show many stage of her entertaining life.

In total it is a brilliant offering from a very special musical icon and is worthy of a place in any musical appreciators collection.

Dare I mention, it could be a great stocking filler in a few weeks time.
