Songwriter Liam Fray is in a more abstract mood when it comes to his lyrics, but whatever your interpretation, the hooks and melodies need no explanation.
Indie music for the modern era, it’s all soaring chords, crashing drums and wistfully delivered vocals.
An album that makes you smile just a little more than before you heard it, I have to agree with the band’s own assessment.
