DIGBY JONES is worth his weight in gold – at least he is to the owners of the struggling firms featured so far in this series.
However, all miracle-workers need their rest, and tonight, Digby approaches his final task, which brings him north to County Durham, the home of Ebac Dehumidifiers.
The company, which employs more than 200 staff, does not need any advice on how to improve the water-cooling side of the business – the staff have got that covered. Instead, it is hoping Lord Jones can lend a hand with a new venture – manufacturing chest freezers.
Ebac bought the assets of a business near John O’Groats that had gone into liquidation, moved everything south, and built a new production line from scratch.
But the operation needs a few tweaks here and there – something the management team admit may be outside their field of experience.
