THE first time I saw Kasabian it was on another bitterly cold Newcastle night and the band hadn't long released their first album.
Six albums later their brand of rock and electronica has endured and they've become one of the most popular live acts around.
Kasabian, particularly lead singer Tom Meighan and songwriter Serge Pizzorno, have never been afraid to blow their own trumpet, therefore it was apt that three trumpeters joined them on stage at a chilly Metro Radio Arena.
There was also a laser show to add to the visual spectacle and even a gospel choir, which seemed a little over the top. Each of the band wore all white and the way he looked you could have been forgiven for mistaking the hirsute Pizzorno for some kind of 1970s cult leader.
More so when Meighan implored of the packed crowd: “Have we got any psychos in here?” before one of their most recent songs, the controversially titled 'You're In Love With A Psycho'.
The music was a mix of newer tracks and older staples. 'LSF (Lost Souls Forever') prompted sections of the ecstatic crowd into a sing-a-long, while other personal highlights included 'Re-Wired' and 'Club Foot'.
It was all delivered with a panache and swagger Kasabian fans have come to expect.
