EMBARKING on her first headline tour after successfully supporting James Bay, Frances took to the stage at the O2 Academy, easing in the audience with a catalogue of crowd-pleasing numbers.
Although her debut album Things I’ve Never Said was only released a fortnight ago, her songs were already very familiar to the eagerly responsive crowd thanks to her critically acclaimed EP Let It Out, which features many of the indie-pop artist’s favourites.
Opening with lead single Don’t Worry About Me, she immediately engaged the bubbly crowd with her passionate delivery.
With essences of 1990s electronica, love ballads and catchy melodies, Frances’ talent shone through on the night, illustrating that these songs were unquestionably meant to be heard live.
The fact she co-produced her album, as well as composing all the songs, only served to highlight her creative influence.
Likened to other artists in the singer-songwriter circle, such as Gabrielle Aplin and Kate Nash, this upcoming artist seemed relaxed and confident, happy to converse with the crowd and constantly welcoming feedback.
In a world that seems to be going mad, Frances offers a reassuring distraction, keeping our eyes firmly fixed on this heart-warming pianist.
