Barnard Castle: Catwalking: Fashion through the Lens of Chris Moore, this exclusive show presents 200 stunning images by the king of catwalk photography, Chris Moore. Capturing six decades of iconic fashion moments, Moore’s photographs feature alongside some of the garments themselves, from leading designers including Vivienne Westwood, Prada, Comme Des Garí§ons, Giles Deacon and Jean Paul Gaultier to name a few. Bishop Auckland: Kynren: An Epic Tale of England, a live action extravaganza that takes you on a journey through 2,000 years of history, myth and legend. 29 scenes, encompassing the Roman occupation to World War II, unfold in front of your eyes. With a cast and crew of 1,000 performing alongside the animals of Kynren, the scale of the show must be seen to be believed. Durham: Miners: Pitmen, Pride and Prayer, celebrate the mining heritage of County Durham with a fascinating exhibition in the Open Treasure Collections Gallery. Twenty-five years since the closure of the last County Durham colliery, and 75 years since the founding of the ‘Bevin Boys’, we explore the Cathedral’s links to coalmining in the region, the continuing role of the Durham Miners’ Gala, and how mining remains an integral part of County Durham life.
