Durham Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival, Gala Theatre, Durham, on Saturday, 2-10pm
Showcasing the quality of live music in the UK, a line-up that appeals to music lovers of all ages in and around the North-East. 

Dr Feelgood is headlining, a transatlantic flavouring, 11 different artists with six performing on an Amp Driven Main Stage and five on a more serene Acoustic Stage.

Formed on Canvey Island in Essex in the early 1970s, Dr Feelgood remains one of the most popular and exciting live rhythm and blues acts in the world. The raw and uncompromising style of their performance resulted in the album Stupidity that immediately went to the number one position in the UK charts. 

Festival goers can expect to see top class live performances and hear a range of incredible sounds with sets that incorporate a creative mix of Blues, Rock and R & B, with a sprinkling of Soul in the mix! 01472-349222. 

Middleton-in-Teesdale open gardens, on Saturday, 11.30-4.30pm

Middleton in Teesdale sits amongst the outstanding scenery of Upper Teesdale. It welcomes Pennine Way walkers, and is just 4m to the E of the famous High Force on the R Tees.

Six plus gardens will be open in and around this delightfully picturesque village, covering a variety of sizes, designs and planting. The gardens, in and near the village, range in elevation from 1,200ft - 750ft above sea level, and present both alpine and cottage planting.

Frontline Sedgefield, Hardwick Park Visitor Centre, on Saturday/Saturday, 10am

The North-Easts newest living history event, depicting soldiers through history. From Anglo Saxons Vikings, Romans, Civil War right through the First and Second World Wars to the present day. 

Attended by many living history groups and displays of Military vehicles of all ages.

If you want to see Vikings in action, how the Romans lived, Medieval battles, WW2 Vehicles and much much more, come along and see. As well as all the Military displays there will be stalls selling all things Military and Vintage. Exhibitors include vintage civilian vehicles, vintage tractors, fire engines, motor cycles, farm vehicles buses etc. Craft, market and multi-period traders. 

There will be a 1940's entertainment night from 6.30 until 1130pm with singer Claire Louise George Fornby impersonator Colin Bourdiec. Tickets for Saturday nights entertainment with licenced late bar can be obtained direct from the 'Number Four Tea Shop' and from 'Tickerty Boo' in the centre of Sedgefield.

Tickets are £5 each. Tickets can also be purchased during the event at the show.

North Yorkshire County Show, Camp Hill Estate, Kirklington, on Sunday, 8am

This will be the 39th Year of the County Show and it will have all the activities that have developed over those years. 

There will be many exciting displays and demonstrations at the show, plus a whole range of main ring attractions, classic cars and motorcycles, a fun dog show, cattle, sheep and poultry, rabbits, cavies, hamsters and ferrets, bungee trampolines, country pursuits, carriage driving, horticulture and produce, arts, crafts, photography, and the Yorkshire Country Women's Association and children's classes. 

The Carriages will make a main ring appearance in the afternoon and there will be the usual Grand Parade of Cattle and Class winners followed by classic cars, vintage agricultural machinery. Also at the show will be the Yorkshire food marquee, craft marquee, a wide variety of trade stands. Tel. 07521-485060. 

The Northern Echo: MUCH-LOVED MOTORS: Classic car fans flock to see the exhibits in the event at Raby Castle

Classic vehicle show, Raby Castle, Staindrop, on Sunday, 10-4pm

The 24th bi-annual classic vehicle show and vintage rally, organised by Mark Woodward Classic Events.

Listen to the purring of excellently restored engines and admire the beautifully waxed bodywork of the classic cars, vintage vehicles and timeless transport at this long established show.

Displayed within its parkland will be commercial vehicles, Land Rovers, trucks, bikes, 4 x 4’s and classic cars including MGs, Triumph Stags and Austin Seven’s. 

There’s also the motor awards to look forward to, an auto jumble for anyone looking for a bargain or a rare discontinued part, and an arena and commentaries throughout the day.
