A FAMILY-RUN writing and editing company is targeting further expansion after becoming the first tenant in a £3.4m business hub.

Concision, founded two years ago in a home office, has now switched to Salvus House at Aykley Heads, in Durham City.

The firm, set up by Daniel Roe, his wife Sarah and father Brian, has taken on writer, researcher and editor Jen Herbert as part of the move.

However, Mr Roe, chief executive, said plans are in place to strengthen its team again as it continues its work with customers in the UK, Europe and the US on content for websites, marketing material, training manuals and legal documents.

He added: “The people who work for us are all writers first and foremost, and expanding our team is an important part of delivering value to clients.

“We’re glad to be based at Salvus because it gives our team more space to collaborate.

“We’re looking to take on another member of staff in the summer, and Salvus gives us the room we need to continue to grow.”

Salvus is run by Business Durham, Durham County Council’s business division, and is designed to help smaller companies take their first steps on the growth trail.

Councillor Simon Henig, leader of Durham County Council, added: “Salvus is just one example of the approach we take towards businesses looking to expand or relocate. We wish Concision all the best.”
