AN energy consultancy has seen revenues rise after a strong performance from one of its divisions.

Utilitywise says its enterprise arm, which serves the small and medium-sized business market, saw sales and profits rise in the six months to January 31.

Bosses added gross order book additions were £50.2m, compared to £40.4m in the same period last year.

The North Tyneside firm, which helps firms manage power and water bills, revealed the performance of enterprise helped offset issues in the company’s corporate division, which services larger organisations and saw a reduction in revenue.

The fall was primarily due to slower progress in the deployment of technology to certain customers but was also impacted by Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme related revenue in the first half of last year, which has not recurred this year.

Officials say they remain confident in the outlook for the division.

Brendan Flattery, chief executive, said: "We are pleased to be reporting the key indicators all showing growth against the prior year in our enterprise division, which continued to impress with an increased order book and a strong revenue pipeline.

"Whilst deployment to certain customers in the smaller corporate division was slower than we had hoped, the division's prospects, and those of the group as a whole, remain unchanged.”

“The opportunities for Utilitywise across all of our markets continue to grow.”
