A TRAINING charity has been praised for its support towards international students.

The TTE Technical Training Group was endorsed by the Independent Inspectorate of Schools (ISI).

The site was inspected over three days by ISI, which is an approved body authorised by the Home Office to inspect privately-funded further education colleges and English language schools.

A report said TTE, in South Bank, near Middlesbrough, has an extensive range of overseas staff with industrial experience, and praised its levels of student welfare and support.

TTE welcomes technicians from the oil and gas, process, manufacturing and engineering industries from around the world, including West Africa and the Middle-East, for skills workshops and assessment programmes.

Its base uses simulator rigs to replicate real industry scenarios, and workshops featuring industry-standard equipment.

Steve Grant, TTE managing director, said: “We are very proud to have achieved this excellent report.

“It is a standard required to deliver education or training in the UK for international students and therefore reaffirms the high quality of support we provide to companies.

“The experience of our staff, who support the development of local apprentices, international students training at TTE and at our international centres in Libya, Ghana and Azerbaijan, is second to none, and it’s very pleasing they have been recognised.”
