A BUILDING firm is toasting a double awards success.
Randall Orchard Construction has secured the National Federation of Builders’ (NFB) apprentice scheme of the year title.
The firm, based in Richmond, North Yorkshire, also picked up the NFB’s apprentice of the year honour, with Darragh Spencer rewarded for his work.
The company received its awards at a ceremony in London.
Richard Beresford, NFB chief executive, said: “I have been consistently impressed with the quality of the work and the level of professionalism of our members.
“That sense of quality ran across the entire field of entries this year, making the judging particularly difficult.”
Randall Orchard works with Darlington College and the Construction Industry Training Board to help more youngsters into apprenticeships.
Since 2000, the firm has taken on 30 apprentices, including joiners, masons, plasterers and a trainee site supervisor.
Bosses say the majority are still with the company, with 18 members of staff past or current apprentices.
