AN education centre, founded just two years ago, has been awarded a top status by a learning body.
The Youth Training Academy, which helps youngsters move into careers in the creative and digital sectors, has been named as an Edexcel Centre Status.
The move means the Gateshead-based centre is ranked as one of the UK’s top training hubs.
It has already worked with more than 60 employers, creating 180 jobs and apprenticeships for 16 to 18-year-olds.
Rob Earnshaw, Youth Training Academy managing director, said: “The unprecedented success we have achieved has been phenomenal.
“We have engaged with some fantastic firms, which has reaped great rewards.
“Gaining Edexcel Centre Status tops off the first two years and gives us a real drive to continue to build what we are doing, which is developing talent and creating links between young people and exciting businesses.”
