A NORTH-EAST apprentice has been praised for his work by a training provider.
Budding video photographer Dan Monaghan, from Consett, County Durham, was celebrated by Business Impact UK in its Apprentice of the Year Awards.
The firm works with companies to identify training needs and help companies recruit young workers.
The 18-year-old was runner-up in the national 16 to 18 year-old category.
Mr Monaghan works at Gateshead video production firm HT Media, spending time on location across the North-East.
He said: “I'm proud and honoured because I come to work and try my best.
“I'm glad I've been given this opportunity by HT, it has enabled me to gain lots of new skills and support production in multiple locations.
“In just five months I've been involved in filming everything from burning planes to huge forestry harvesting operations at Kielder.”
Martin Wray, Business Impact's managing director, said Mr Monaghan was worthy of his accolade.
He added: “Dan has made a tremendous impact on the business and his team and we wish him well in the future.”
