A TRAINING provider has helped two North-East apprentices move up in their careers.

S&D Training, in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, worked with Ingrams Removals and Storers, who took on James Wilson and Cameron Dunn.

The pair excelled so much at the Bishop Auckland-based firm that it paid for them to undertake a certificate for removals course.

The three-day test covers all aspects of the removal industry and assessors were so impressed with the duo they contacted the company to hail their progress.

Malcolm Ingram, Ingrams' operations director, said: “The decision to invest in our future as a business and train local youngsters was an easy option.

“I spoke to Steven Winterburn from S&D Training who explained the benefits to us as a business and we have not looked back since.

“The two young lads are shaping up to be excellent employees, and the feedback we got is the icing on the cake.

“It just goes to show how willing the youth of today actually are.

“Steven vetted the applicants and we have no complaints about the calibre of James and Cameron, and hope to employ further apprentices through S&D in the future.”

James said: “This was an excellent opportunity for me to get a foot on the ladder.

“I am learning a great deal from the staff at Ingrams and with thanks to S&D I will have a full time job after my apprenticeship finishes.”

Cameron added: “I’ve always wanted to work in this sector and with the help of S&D, I'm now working for one of the top removal companies you can find.”
