ADVICE for families wanting to pass on their farming business to the next generation will be given at a free event at the Jersey Farm Hotel, Barnard Castle.
Moving On - The Next generation is next Tuesday, at 6.30pm. It is organised by the Commission for Rural Communities rural team based at Thirsk Auction Mart, in conjunction with UTASS at Middleton in Teesdale.
Many farmers have not written a will or considered a succession plan and the event is designed to help them start planning.
The speakers include Ann Eliott, of Latimer Hinks solicitors, Robert Dunning, from Kenneth Easby Accountants, and Guy Coggrave, from GSC Grays.
Local farmer Richard Betton, UTASS farm liaison officer, will chair the meeting.
Other experts will be available for advice. Booking is essential.
