DARLINGTON-BASED firm CTC Marine Projects Ltd has signed an agreement with engineering recruitment company TechConsult UK Ltd.
Under the agreement, TechConsult UK Ltd, based at The Wilton Centre, near Redcar, will provide specialist permanent and contract personnel for CTC's projects in the world's oceans.
CTC Marine Projects Limited, which is a division of the Trico group, has its head office in Coniscliffe Road, Darlington, and operates a marine base from South Bank, Teesside.
The company, which carries out trenching, cable-laying and associated work for the telecommunications and oil and gas industries, requires specialised personnel, something TechConsult UK Ltd can provide because of its expertise in the marine and sub-sea sectors.
TechConsult UK has a large database of skilled workers, many from the North-East, including engineers, technicians, project managers and administration personnel.
TechConsult recently announced an expansion plan, setting out to secure more contracts within the North-East.
Its managing director, Steve Guest, said: "We have maintained for some time that the North-East is enjoying a boom in sectors including marine and sub-sea.
"Our agreement with CTC Marine Projects underlines the strength of the sectors."
Nick Lee, CTC's recruitment officer, said: "This will greatly assist in streamlining, and therefore, improving our offshore recruitment process."
