A STUDY aimed at making it easier for food and drink producers to get their produce to market has been commissioned by regional development agency One NorthEast.
The work is part of the delivery of the North-East England Strategy for Regional Food and Drink.
One NorthEast's rural policy manager, Frances Rowe, said: "Many businesses in the local and regional food sector are very small enterprises, and they often tell us that logistics and distribution are barriers to their development."
The Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) is carrying out the research.
SAC's workshops will take place on Thursday, at Close House Country Club, in Heddon on the Wall, and on Friday, at Durham County Cricket Ground in Chester-le-Street. Workshops run from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
