THE annual search for the best places to stay, eat and visit in the North-East is under way.
The North-East England Tourism Awards were launched in Sunderland, host of the International Airshow and last year's winner of the best tourism experience in the country.
Geoff Hodgson, chairman of the North-East England Tourism Board, said: "North-East England has a range of high-quality tourism businesses and the tourism awards are a fantastic way for a business to demonstrate that they are the best of the best."
