A CONSTRUCTION support
group that aims to address leadership
issues by connecting the
current and future generation of
leaders with industry experts
will be launched in the North-
East this month.
Leaders Connect, the brainchild
of construction industry
coach Dave Stitt, aims to help executives
solve some issues by
using a unique online service.
Enabling direct communication
with a number of companies,
Leaders Connect will provide
expert knowledge and
advice based on 170 years of construction
industry experience.

The concept will give industry
professionals practical and personal
support and the chance to
address the experts with their
challenges, while developing relationships.
Mr Stitt, founder and director
of Leaders Connect, said: "We
hear a lot about the construction
skills shortage in the industry.
However, the really big issue facing
construction companies is
the need for leadership skills.
"Over the past 30 years, I have
worked with construction companies
of all sizes. No matter
what size or sector the firms operate
in, the need for leadership
skills is a common concern.
"We are confident that Leaders
Connect will go some way to supporting
those faced with the demands
of responsible positions."
Tony Whelan, managing director
of North-East-based construction
firm Whelan, said: "I
have worked with Dave Stitt
closely for several years now. He
has been a key player in our company
development.
"I believe Leaders Connect is
exactly what is needed. Through
time it will prove a valuable resource
for people like myself."
The scheme is being launched
on Thursday, March 27, at the
Gateshead Hilton. For more information
