AN initiative aimed at inspiring thousands of young people to become the next generation of entrepreneurs has been launched.
John Hutton, Secretary of State for Business and the Regions, yesterday launched the Make Your Mark in Tees Valley campaign at Middlesbrough Football Club's Enterprise Academy.
The national campaign aims to give people the inspiration and opportunity to transform their ideas into reality.
Organisers behind the scheme hope it will boost the economy in the Tees Valley over the next few years.
Mr Hutton said: "I am committed to encouraging the UK entrepreneurial spirit, supporting people who take risks and seize opportunities to help individuals and local communities succeed and to make us the world's most entrepreneurial nation. We are taking the necessary action to see that happens."
He said the Tees Valley campaign offered the opportunity for unlocking the potential of young people in the area.
Pamela Hargreaves, head of the Tees Valley campaign, said: "The campaign is here to inspire local people to make their ideas happen and help find the entrepreneurs of tomorrow."
Mr Hutton also visited Business Link North-East, in Seaham, County Durham, yesterday to see the work being done to improve business support in the region.
