A HOUSEBUILDER has hailed an “unprecedented level” of growth after profits nearly trebled.

Partner Construction says pre-tax profits stood at £1.7m between March 2016 and 2017, representing a 190 per cent increase compared to £600,000 during the previous year.

The firm, headquartered in Spennymoor, County Durham, employs around 45 staff and complements North-East operations with an office in Derby.

Its portfolio includes The Acorns, a 70-home development in Spennymoor, and a 66-plot site in Darlington’s Alexander Street, and Leigh Cresswell, managing director, said it has laid the foundations for continued growth.

He said: “We’ve always focused on building a great firm, so we’re obviously very happy with the performance over the past year.

“The results reflect ambitious plans for growth and we’ve got strong expectations for next year.”

During the period, the business’ turnover increased 62 per cent to £35.6m compared with £21.8m the previous year.

Its increase in overheads was only 15 per cent, while its highest-ever monthly revenues came in March this year.
