A DOMESTIC appliance repair company says it will create jobs in a “landmark” energy supplier deal.

0800 Repair is working alongside Npower in a five-year deal.

Bosses say the agreement will create at least 30 jobs and bolster revenues.

They added the business, which is part of Houghton-le-Spring’s Pacifica Group, will deliver a range of services nationally as a sole provider to Npower, including boiler installations and loft and cavity wall insulation.

Phil Pallister, 0800 Repair’s managing director, said the agreement represents a significant coup for the business, with fellow Houghton-le-Spring call centre operator Npower’s confidence in the business a reflection of its growing marketplace repute.

He said: “This is a landmark moment in 0800 Repair’s short history, which has accelerated our national ambitions significantly.

“The contract win will also lead to the creation of further jobs within the Pacifica Home Services division, boosting our strong network of professional heating engineers and installers.

“I am delighted we have secured this partnership with Npower.”

Mr Pallister added the deal will help lift Pacifica Group’s revenues to more than £40m, with Pacifica Home Services’ turnover rising to in excess of £20m.

Pacifica Group previously operated out of Chester-le- Street but switched to its new home at Houghton-le-Spring, based between Durham City and Sunderland, after experiencing strong growth.

Handling more than 4,000 jobs a week and employing nearly 400 staff, it also includes the Pacifica Appliance Services and UK Warranty operations, and Kevin Brown, group managing director, said its Npower deal was a sign of its intent.

He said: “The deal will vastly support the group’s long-term growth strategy and support the creation of numerous jobs, as we look to increase our workforce to meet national demand and enter new markets.

“It bodes well for the future.”

Robert Harper, Npower’s head of commercial partnerships, added: “We’ve worked with Pacifica Group for the past five years at a regional level and they’ve consistently delivered excellent customer service.

“We are delighted to build on this partnership at a national level to deliver heating and insulation measures.”
