A HEALTH and safety consultancy firm is looking to expand its offer with the launch of a new sister company.

Steel River Consultants (SRC) has established its reputation with its construction and design management services, particularly in the offshore and renewable energy sectors.

The company has worked on some of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects, including underground gas storage projects and offshore wind farms.

Now the Stockton-based firm has announced the launch of a new company, to be called Steel River Cost and Project Management (SRCPM).

Graham Tyerman, SRC managing director, said the new project management enterprise was a “natural fit” for the firm’s existing services.

He said: “Although SRCPM will operate as a standalone business, we believe its services will be of great benefit to clients, both existing and new, who also need our health and safety expertise.”

The new company will be headed by Gary Marshall, who has more than 28 years' experience delivering projects across the North-East, nationally and internationally, working for some of the largest consultancies in the industry.

Mr Marshall said: “The services we offer are crucial to the successful delivery of a project no matter what scale.

"Delivering a project on time and on budget that achieves or surpasses the expectations of the client takes careful planning and management.

“As project managers, it is our role to form good working relationships with clients and understand their aspirations before working together to create the outcomes they expect.

“Careful cost management provides the financial data needed to support our clients in making informed decisions.”

Since it was established in 2010, SRC has enjoyed strong growth – opening new offices in the Midlands and expanding its list of clients.

Mr Tyerman added: “A new sister company offers new challenges and exciting opportunities for us – and not to mention that this is the next logical step.

“It increases our skills base and helps us deliver an even wider range of services for our clients.

“The synergy between our companies means we have a fantastic opportunity to grow both businesses in parallel and explore further potential to support our clients with a wider range of services.”
