A FAMILY-RUN smoked salmon firm has secured £3.9m backing to fund further growth.
Bleiker’s Smokehouse has agreed a deal with Yorkshire Bank.
Bosses say the cash will give the company extra working capital and help increase production at its site in Leeming Bar, near Bedale, North Yorkshire.
Formed in 1993, the second generation business has experience of supplying Morrisons, Aldi and Spar with its goods.
However, to fulfil growing demand, officials said the company needed funding to create a new hot-smoking unit.
Charlie Andrew, managing director, said: “We have experienced significant growth in the last few years and, given our plans for further expansion, not only are we excited to work with a bank that best fits our current needs but also one that will be a supportive partner in our development.”
Mr Andrew added turnover is expected to rise from £12m to £20m in the next five years.
Brian De Vere, relationship manager for Yorkshire Bank, said: “We look forward to working with the team at Bleiker’s Smokehouse as they continue to grow.
“They have a fantastic reputation and it’s rewarding to know we have been able to make a contribution to their future.”
