THERE will be room for everything, including the kitchen sink, after a company expanded its business park presence.

Magnet has taken on a 76,000sq ft unit at Darlington’s Lingfield Point.

The company previously had a 12,000sq ft base at the site. However, bosses say they needed extra room to meet demand and found exactly what they wanted at Lingfield Point.

Simon Hay, warehouse operations manager, said: “We needed to expand into a much bigger space in a convenient and easy to access location.

“This move is very important to our future, so it was vital we took the right decision.

“Our original base at Lingfield Point gives us everything we need, and, after looking around the region we could not find anywhere that came close, so we were delighted Lingfield could accommodate such a huge expansion.”

Lingfield Point is home to a number of operations, including the Student Loans Company and Schott Removals, and Eddie Humphries, the park’s estate manager, said it was always satisfying to see companies strengthen their commitment to the site.

He said: “There’s only one thing we love more than welcoming new customers and that’s seeing existing firms grow and prosper like Magnet.

Jonathan Simpson, of Connect Property North East, added: “This represents the largest warehouse letting in the Tees Valley so far this year, and follows quickly the letting of 25,000sq ft to JLM Foods on the park.”
