A PORTABLE building firm has spent £2.7m to upgrade vehicles to maintain its growth.

Mobile Mini, which runs its head office at Preston Farm Business Park, near Stockton, has bought 15 delivery trucks.

Bosses say the Scania wagons will be delivered to its depots across the UK this autumn to help distribute its hire containers and accommodation units.

They added they are a major improvement of the firm’s existing fleet of 41 lorry-mounted loader crane vehicles, and will provide additional lifting capacity.

Chris Watcham, Mobile Mini health and safety director, said: “Safety is at the forefront of everything we do.

“These new vehicles will not only improve our already first-class customer service, but will also help maintain our excellent safety record.

“The new fleet has been designed to meet our exact specifications and will help increase delivery efficiency.”

Alan Dale, Scania regional sales director, added: “We have an excellent working relationship with Mobile Mini, having been a supplier to the company for more than 25 years.

“As part of our ongoing partnership, we will continue to work with the firm to provide full repair and maintenance on the vehicles for the next seven years across the UK.”

Mobile Mini also has depots in Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
