TRANSPORT firm Hargreaves Logistics as launched a recruitment drive to support its ongoing growth.

The Esh Winning company used a visit from the European Director of one of the world’s major truck manufacturers to confirm it needed another 20 drivers to join its team, with 10 of the roles to be based in the North-East.

Hargreaves Logistics welcomed Scania's Bengt Thorsson to its County Durham site to see first-hand the challenges that the truck firm's vehicles face on a daily basis.

As part of the fact finding visit, Mr Thorsson saw up close the tasks being undertaken by Scania Trucks and heard from the Hargreaves Logistics team about the continued growth of the business and the potential for further opportunities for both companies.

Andrew Spence-Wolrich, managing director of Hargreaves Logistics said: "It was a pleasure to host Bengt and the team from Scania in the North-East and to have the opportunity to discuss with them the challenges we face and how their vehicles are helping us meet the needs of our customers.

“We have seen considerable progression in our logistics business over a number of years and now we need more drivers to allow us to build on this success.

“At present we have over 20 vacancies for skilled and experienced HGV drivers and we’d encourage any drivers with the relevant experience and skills to get in touch and be part of a great company that rewards and recognises its workforce.”
