DURHAM County Cricket Club is celebrating a match made in heaven, after entering its sixth year of sponsorship with a regional wealth management firm.

Brewin Dolphin has been the club’s longest standing commercial supporter, along with Dubai-based airline company Emirates. The business benefits from branding on players’ shirts and around the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground (EDICG), as well as hospitality at Durham’s home matches.

The relationship was brokered by Brewin Dolphin’s business development director, John Duns, and DCCC commercial director Tom Seymour.

Mr Duns, said: “Brewin Dolphin believes that any successes in the region have a positive impact on business in the North-East, so lending our support to DCCC – a team that has seen such fantastic results on the field - is something we are proud to do.

“We have enjoyed a longstanding relationship with Durham County Cricket Club, and we are delighted it has reached a milestone this year. Newcastle is our third largest office in the UK, out of our 28 firm-wide nationally, so supporting a club like Durham, which does so much to boost the visitor economy in the North-East, and does a tremendous job in putting the region on the map, is extremely important to us.”

Mr Seymour who manages the relationships between the club and its corporate sponsors, said: “We are delighted that we have been able to count on the support of Brewin Dolphin for so many years.

“Our relationship with Brewin Dolphin is of vital importance to the club, and over the years we have built up an incredibly strong professional relationship with them.

“For us, it is fantastic to have a relationship with a business that reflects our own values and what’s more, we know the team there loves their cricket, which means it has become much more than a sponsorship agreement – it’s a perfect match.”
