BOSSES at a £6.6m innovation hub have made an appointment to promote its work.

Officials at Business Central Darlington say graphic design agency Intimation Creative will help bring the building to life.

The centre is due to open later this month, offering space for up to 60 companies, and senior figures previously revealed plans to support the creation of at least 25 new businesses and more than 300 jobs over a 15-year period.

The project, spearheaded by North-East Business Innovation Centre (BIC) will focus on nurturing established and start-up firms, with specific focus on the digital, biologics and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Andy Smith, director at Intimation, said: “With our track record in this sector working with numerous business parks, we are delighted to be selected to work with such a well-respected organisation.

“We’re looking forward to bringing to life the Business Central Darlington project, using our expertise creating and building engaging brands, and promoting it with an exciting marketing campaign.”

The Northern Echo previously toured the site, when BIC’s head of communications, Victoria Thompson, said the building would allow it to work with Tedco Business Support to mirror existing facilities it has in Sunderland.

She added: “We are all about innovation, but this is not about shuffling the pack.

“We want to make sure the businesses that are coming here will enhance the area.

“We can tap into different things, and have support services and business mentoring, which are ideal for companies that are established or are start-ups.”

The project has been backed with funding from the European Regional Development Fund and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Bosses also worked with Darlington Borough Council on the development, which is in the town’s Central Park Enterprise Zone, off Yarm Road.
