NORTH-EAST writer Michael Walker will be joined by Sunderland legend Niall Quinn and former Newcastle United favourite Robert Lee at book signing events this weekend.

On Saturday November 29, Lee will be joining Walker to sign copies of his acclaimed book Up There, which chronicles the North-East's changing fortunes as a football and industrial power, at WH Smith, Metro Centre, Gateshead from noon to 1.00pm and WH Smith, Northumberland Street, Newcastle between 2.00pm to 3.00pm.

On Sunday, Walker will be joined by former Black Cats striker Quinn at Waterstones, 69 Saddler St, Durham between 1.00pm to 2.30pm and then Waterstones, Bridges Shopping Centre in Sunderland from 3.30pm.

Demand for all four events is expected to be very high so shoppers are advised to get there early.
