AN IT specialist is expanding and creating jobs after securing work worth more than £2m.

Razorblue, in Catterick, North Yorkshire, is providing a range of services for retailer Sports Direct.

It also has a contract with Dublin’s Furlong Flooring to provide software development and outsourced IT services.

Bosses at Razorblue, which has offices in Newcastle and York, and has plans to branch into Teesside, say its contracts have grown by 40 per cent in the last year, and have taken on more workers to accommodate the expansion.

The firm has recruited five members of staff, taking its workforce to 30, and has plans to add another five by the end of the year.

The company specialises in consultancy and managed IT services for small and medium-sized companies, business parks and public sector organisations.

Dan Kitchen, technical director, who founded Razorblue in 2006, said: “We’re growing faster than we anticipated.

“That is thanks to the fantastic team we have and the sophisticated technology we have invested in and developed.

“This is an exciting time as we take on new staff, expand our premises and work with more Europe-wide organisations.”
