MORRISONS says it has created 180 North-East jobs after opening a store in the region.
The 44,643sq ft supermarket, in Blaydon, South Tyneside, is part of a major town centre redevelopment.
Malcolm Rennie, Morrisons’ Blaydon store manager, said: “We’re delighted to have created so many local jobs, and to have helped to redevelop this part of Blaydon.
“That’s just the start though, and now we are here I’m determined to put this store at the very heart of the community in Blaydon.”
