AN independent management consultancy firm has moved offices as it looks to increase its presence in the region.

Nicholson Consultancy is now based in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.

The firm, which previously operated in Birtley, near Chester-le-Street, says its Aycliffe site will provide a hub for a network of associate consultants and trainers.

Founded in 2000, the company delivers training, consultancy, and support for manufacturing companies, including Aycliffe-based lawn mower maker Husqvarna and car chassis firm Gestamp Tallent.

Andrew Nicholson, managing director, said: “This is a very exciting time being in an area that will soon be home to Hitachi Rail Europe and already boasts ambitious companies.

“Being at the centre of County Durham’s industrial operations has allowed us to form closer relationships with key players in the industry.

“Our new site has given us a real opportunity to continue the growth of our business.

“We have some excellent training facilities and will be offering our own unique range of short courses, modular training programmes and drop-in sessions for manufacturers.”
