A NEW programme has been launched to give chemistry students a step on the careers ladder. 

The TTE Technical Training Group has joined forces with Johnson Matthey and Teesside University to launch its 2014 Young Scientist Sponsored Undergraduate Programme and is hosting an special career event for A-Level chemistry students.

The course will combine theoretical learning with structured training and assessment on the chemicals company premises to provide a well-rounded programme.

The careers event taking place between 13:30-15:30 on Friday February 21 will include a tour of the on-site laboratories, a chance to meet the experts and is an opportunity for students to find out everything they need to know at this special event.

TTE provides specialist training to support the oil, gas, manufacturing, process and chemical industries. Its uniquely-equipped workshops enable trainees to gain practical experience to help prepare them for careers in these sectors. The organisation delivers a blend of post-16 engineering training including vocational study programmes and apprenticeships.

TTE also trains technicians from international industry and young people attending TTE, including the undergraduates, benefit from the expertise of professional trainers who also deliver skills and qualifications to global industry including high profile companies such as BP and Marathon Oil.
