Faurecia, which supplies Sunderland-baed Nissan, looks to expand
A COMPANY making seats and door panels for the North-East's biggest car manufacturer has revealed plans to create about 60 new jobs.
The company makes seats, cockpits, door panels, acoustics and soft trims for Sunderland-based Nissan.
Earlier this month, the Japanese car maker revealed its North-East factory was on target to set new production levels and recruit hundreds of workers.
It has also started work on expanding its record-breaking plant, which will enable it to make the luxurious Infiniti Q30 hatchback from 2015.
Infiniti will become the first new car brand to be manufactured in the UK on this scale for 23 years, and the move will create 280 jobs and about 750 supply chain posts.
Last month, Nissan created 400 jobs when it started £125m work on the Note hatchback.
