Reef Subsea wins North Sea contract
A SUBSEA engineering company has won a multi-million pounds contract to supply a major North Sea oil project.
Staff at Reef Subsea's offices in Thornaby, near Stockton will play a key supporting role in the trenching work being carried out for the Bøyla Development Project off the coast of Norway.
Reef Subsea Integrated Projects (RSIP) division will provide its client Technip Norge AS with the state-of-the-art Q1000 jet trencher, along with a team of experienced operators, to dig trenches on the seabed at depths of up to 120 metres.
RSIP will also provide all of the associated engineering, procedures and onshore and offshore project management necessary to complete the trenching, which will take place in 2014.
RSIP is the new division formed from the merger of Reef Subsea Power & Umbilical & Reef Subsea Norway. This restructure is aimed at creating a much more effective projects delivery division as the company continues to grow.
It will operate all of the vessels under one division and will be able to share its expertise across its sites in Thornaby, Bergen, Norway and Aberdeen.
