Emma Wathey taken on by Jennings Motor Group as apprentice accounts assistant
A TEENAGER is already calculating her future career after securing an apprenticeship with a car dealership.
Emma Wathey has been taken on by Jennings Motor Group as an apprentice accounts assistant.
The 16-year-old, from Billingham, near Stockton, is working at the company's Cargo Fleet Lane dealership, in Middlesbrough, covering areas such as purchase ledger and banking.
The former Northfield Comprehensive School pupil was steered towards Jennings after using the National Apprenticeship website to find a career.
She said: “I knew I didn’t want to stay on at school so the apprenticeship programme was the perfect option for me.”
Donna Moore, Jennings' account said: “The apprenticeship programme is a great option for young school leavers because it gives them valuable experience and nationally recognised qualifications.
“Emma is already proving to be a real asset to the team.”
