MORE than 100 workers have lost their jobs at a food delivery company.
David Price Food Services, which has headquarters in Wallsend, near Newcastle, has gone into administration.
The company delivered chilled and frozen products to airports, retailers, and food manufacturers, but had suffered from poor trading and increased fuel costs.
Administrators KPMG say its cold storage division, which had bases in Wallsend and Glasgow, has been sold to Ice Company Distribution, saving 29 jobs, but its chilled haulage division has stopped trading with 109 workers made redundant.
Five workers have been retained at the Wallsend head office to help with the administration process.
The company's haulage division had depots in Bristol, Bury St Edmunds, Glasgow, Gillingham, South Kirkby, in West Yorkshire, and Wrexham.
