C&D Taxis works with Hadrian Technology
A NORTH-EAST technology firm has teamed up with a taxi company to help the transport operation drive down costs.
Hadrian Technology, based in Sunderland, has installed CCTV in vehicles for C&D Taxis, which run across Tyne and Wear.
C&D says the CCTV, which records images from inside and outside taxis, will help save thousands of pounds every year in insurance premiums.
Chris Waterstreet, owner of C&D, said: “CCTV will provide me with evidence of what happens in my taxis.
“After the initial installation costs, I will re-coup the cost in up to two years.
“I also won't get bogged down with lengthy and expensive investigations when someone makes a claim and hopefully my insurance premium will stop rising each year, with one insurance company knocking £500 off taxi insurance premiums if you have CCTV.”
Gary Trotter, Hadrian Technology general manager, said: “C&D now have the evidence they need to avoid significant and avoidable losses and I hope we can help other businesses tackle similar problems.”
