Richard Bryan swaps life in housing management for chimney sweeping
A FORMER rent collector and council house management worker hopes to clean up in his new profession after becoming a chimney sweep.
The 48-year-old housing studies graduate, who is married with two children, says he is looking forward to swapping tenancy management work for life sweeping chimneys, removing nests and fitting cages and caps.
He said: “I’m really excited to be starting my own business, I’ve been tied to a desk for so many years that I knew I wanted to do something totally different and being a chimney sweep is certainly that.
“My very first job in housing was going door to door rent collecting and it’s that personal interaction with people I’m most looking forward to, though I hope I'll be more welcome inside this time.”
