A WROUGHT ironwork specialist which lists the Royal Family as a satisfied customer is continuing to expand.

Architechtural metalwork firm, Chris Topp and Company, has brought its workers under one roof as it looks to continue its rapid ascent.

The company, founded more than 30 years ago by Mr Topp, is based near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, and is building on its successes by moving its workforce of about 15 staff into larger premises.

Jerome Peycher, Chris Topp director, said: “Relocating from our multiple sites on the wartime airfield at Tholthorpe, near Easingwold, was an absolute necessity.

“Bringing everything together all under one roof, covering 12,500 square feet, from design through to manufacture and finishing will help enormously.

“Producing fine metalwork for some of the most prestigious properties in the world drives our mission to constantly exceed expectations in everything we do and to support this we needed to optimise efficiency and quality.”

Last year, the firm received the royal seal of approval after winning a contract to build an external covered walkway as part of the £12m renovation of Kensington Palace, which was officially opened by The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

The company has also carried out work for Buckingham Palace and St Paul's Cathedral, in London, York Minster and Castle Howard, near Malton, North Yorkshire.
