Drivers urged to test Sunderland-built Nissan Leaf electric car

PEOPLE can test drive a new electric car which is being built in the North-East.

Stockton Council has organised an event for people to try the Nissan Leaf, which is expected to roll off the production line at the Japanese company's Sunderland plant later this month.

The open day, at CableCom, in Westland Way, on Preston Park Farm Industrial Estate, near Stockton, will also allow motorists to test Renault's ZE van and hybrid vehicles from Lexus, Toyota and Peugeot.

The event takes place on Friday 22 March at CableCom, on Preston Farm Industrial Estate, near Stockton, between 8.30am and 1pm.

It has been organised by the council, with support from energy experts tadea, Zero Carbon Futures, Charge Your Car, and Tees Valley Unlimited.
