AN electrical and mechanical contractor has saved eight jobs after buying an ailing building services maintenance company.
John Cullerton and Sons, in Durham, has taken on R Levitt Ltd, which fell into administration in January after experiencing a reduced turnover and cash flow problems.
The firm, which trades as Levitts, is based in Castleford, West Yorkshire, and supplies plumbing, refrigeration, and air conditioning services, previously working for North Yorkshire County Council and Carillion.
The company will continue to trade from its premises in Castleford.
David Wilson, joint administrator from Begbies Traynor, said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured a future for this business, which has been trading for 57 years.
“It became yet another victim of the downturn, but by joining forces with John Cullerton and Sons, we are confident it has a bright future.”
