AN offshore engineering firm has reached a major safety milestone.
Fabricom Offshore Services, based in Newcastle, has recorded one million man hours without a reportable accident of lost time incident.
The firm, which provides design, construction and project management services to the offshore oil and gas industry, was formed in 2007 and employs more than 320 workers.
Martin Nesbitt, Fabricom chief operating officer, said: “To record one million man hours is a considerable achievement in itself, but to accomplish this without any incident is a significant landmark.
“It is also testament to the high levels of health, safety, environment and quality awareness and people-focused culture that is embedded in Fabricom’s roots.
“We look forward to building upon this exemplary track record and record another one million man hours worked an incident.”
Last month, the company launched its own skills and development academy, in Newcastle, offering training for graduates and apprenticeships.
