RESTAURANT OPENING: A new North-East restaurant has officially opened.
Frankie & Benny's, in Cleveland Retail Park, Skippers Lane, Middlesbrough, has created 55 new jobs.
HOUSING AWARD: A housing association has received an industry award for the way it manages and develops staff.
Two Castles Housing Association, which has an office in Newcastle, now has Investors in People Gold status, and was recognised for its work in leadership and rewarding workers.
Stephanie Murphy, Two Castles chief executive, said: “This is a fantastic achievement because Investors in People is a real benchmark of excellence in terms of demonstrating the value we place on our people.”
DOGGY TREATS: A North-East plastics manufacturer has worked with an animal charity to create the UK's first training aid made entirely from recycled goods.
Marmax Products, based in Stanley, County Durham, has made a dog training platform which has been commissioned by the Dogs Trust.
Dogs Trust operates 18 rehoming centres in the UK, including one at Sadberge, near Darlington.
