MANUFACTURING companies in the North-East have been urged to increase tax savings through a Government-backed scheme.
The Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) will host an event at Nifco, in Eaglescliffe, near Stockton, offering advice on how firms can gain tax relief on research and development costs.
The event will also feature talks from business advisers at Clive Owen & Co, of Darlington, who have teamed up with Teesside University to promote research and development and tax break opportunities.
Nicola Bellerby, a tax partner from Clive Owen & Co’s Durham office, said: “The North-East is home to an important part of the nation’s manufacturing output yet few businesses realise how they can make greater tax savings through a claim for research and development.
“The MAS service offers practical support and matched funding towards effectively bringing products to market, ensuring businesses maximise the potential of these projects.”
The event takes place from 8am on Tuesday, February 12 at Nifco, in Durham Lane, Eaglescliffe.
