FIVE new trainee solicitors have been taken on at Sintons, as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting emerging legal talent from across the North East.

Cheryl Beenshill, Glenn Coyne, Joshua Crawley, Sally Michael and Andrew Purdie have all secured training contracts and join the three second year trainees – Matthew Holbrook, Lucy Robson and Rebecca Stapely – who are working towards their qualification.

Newcastle-based Sintons each year takes on a number of trainee lawyers, following a stringent application and selection process. Each trainee will work in a number of departments giving them wide ranging experience.

Cheryl, Glenn, Joshua and Andrew are already familiar faces at Sintons having worked as paralegals at the firm. Cheryl has taken a role in the firm’s nationally-regarded healthcare team, Glenn is part of the corporate recovery and insolvency team, Joshua has joined the company and commercial department, and Andrew is working within the dispute resolution department. Sally, who has previously completed a work placement at Sintons, joins as a trainee solicitor within the firm’s highly-respected personal injury team.

Phil Ridley, practice director at Sintons, said: “We have a long-standing and ongoing dedication to supporting aspiring legal talent, and we have many examples of trainees who have gone on to enjoy long and successful careers with us - the two lawyers promoted to Partner this year, Laura Peace and Adrian Dye, both joined us as trainees.

“Part of our continuing success comes from nurturing these outstanding young professionals from the earliest opportunity, and we wish Cheryl, Glenn, Joshua, Sally and Andrew the very best of luck as they begin their legal careers. We are confident they will make great progress here at Sintons.”
