A LAW firm has received a quality mark for its advice on wills, estates and inheritance.

BHP Law has been recognised by the Law Society’s Will and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS).

Bosses say it is a formal acknowledgement of best practice, confirming BHP offers service and expertise clients can trust.

The firm, which has offices in Darlington, Durham, Stockton and Newcastle, had to demonstrate it complies with wills and inheritance protocol as judged by the Law Society.

The protocol sets service standards to ensure transparency and outlines the practices for will drafting, probate and estate administration to help reduce risks, errors and inconsistencies.

It also had to prove it has the necessary expertise and gives clients information they need to understand the process, options, costs and timescales from the outset.

Helen Biglin, partner in wills, trusts and probate at BHP, said: “Making a will and planning for the future after your death is a personal and sometimes emotional experience.

“That’s why it is vital clients can share that with a professional in whom they have complete confidence and trust.

“WIQS accreditation helps clients to make a confident and informed choice and assures them that we conform to best practice in our wills, probate and estate administration advice.”
