STAFF at a law firm will pay homage to the Tour de France Grand Depart by holding a cycle tour.
More than 20 lawyers and staff from Newtons Solicitors Group, which has offices in Darlington and Richmond, North Yorkshire, are setting out on the Tour de Newtons, a 63-mile sponsored ride around its office network.
The tour will visit its offices, including bases in Leyburn and Ripon, North Yorkshire, on Saturday, June 7.
The event, which is the idea of Newtons’ head of employment law and director, Tiggy Clifford, aims to raise more than £5,000 for independent charities, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Great North Air Ambulance.
Chris Newton, who founded the firm with wife and fellow director Sarah, said: “It is going to be a real challenge but we want to put something back into the local communities after a very successful first five years.
“Our training rides are going well and we are hoping for good personal achievements across the team.”
